Not only do I take photos, I also Paint!
Painting for me has happened my whole life. As a child I would love using grandads old oil based enamel to paint pictures on scrap wood. Through high school, I was the one drawing eyes in the margins of my books. After school, I enrolled in a bachelor of Fine Arts. I think that was one of my favourite times of my life. Catching the train into the city just to go to my lil studio and paint or draw or develop photos or just hang out. Now, it's my favourite activity of an afternoon, or in a cafe, or while camping, or whenever I can carve time for it.
My practice is mainly in my sketchbook, the most portable mode of art for me. I'm getting more and more comfortable painting larger and getting my works onto the wall. In doing so, I have won a highly commended in the Ipswich Art Awards 2023 for a mixed media watercolour piece, and second place in the Ipswich show 2024 for a watercolour and gouache piece.
